Tuesday's Boys Golf: W.F. West’s Hinds, Kim in Top 10 After Day One at Districts

W.F. West’s Brady Hinds and Andrew Kim are in the top 10 after the first round at the District 4 2A Boys Golf tournament at Lewis River Golf Course in Woodland on Tuesday.

Hinds shot an 83 for eighth place and Kim carded an 86 to settle into ninth place.

Black Hills’ Tyler Cassell shot a 73 to lead the tournament after one round.

Centralia’s Rudy Voetberg and Brett Wasson each shot an 88 to finish in a tie for 13th.

Rochester’s Marcus Ashton was the lone Warrior to make the cut after the first round, shooting a 92. W.F. West’s Jaron Howell fired a 93 and Centralia’s Nolan Rice made the cut on the number, shooting a 96.



Centralia’s Luke Lennox shot a 109 and Jesse Kuykendall recorded a 122. Brock Terry did not finish his round.

Logan Fry shot a 104 and Marcus Correntto had a 103 for the Warriors. Gabe Masias shot a 111, Luke Barth carded a 115 and Elijah Spitzer shot a 103.

“Looking at where we started the year, I’m proud of where our guys ended up. All our guys completed the day,” Rochester coach Eric Holmkvist said. “ As a team, I’m pretty proud of the guys we had.”

W.F. West’s Tukker Rosbach shot a 103 and Dirk Plakinger had a 101. Camryn Bostwick recorded a 99 for the Bearcats.

Centralia’s Rice tees off in the first group on Wednesday at 11 a.m. Howell tees off at 11:32 and Ashton starts the second round at 11:48. Centralia’s Rudy Voetberg begins round two at 12:04 p.m. and teammate Brett Wasson is in the group right after him at 12:12. Kim tees off at 12:36 and the Bearcats’ Hinds is the final local player to tee off at 12:44 on Wednesday.
