ABERDEEN — W.F. West swept the doubles matches and, but for an unfortunate injury, had a good chance at doing the same in singles action here Tuesday in a 5-1 Evergreen 2A Conference girls tennis win over Aberdeen.

The Bearcats’ top singles player, Sydney Cameron, went down with an injury in the first set and had to forfeit her match.

“She was feeling quite a bit better by the end,” Bearcat coach Jack State said. “Hopefully she’ll be able to be back without missing too much time.”

Lexi Akins won 6-3, 6-0 at No. 2 singles. Tiana Jeffries, in her first singles match, won 6-1, 6-0 and played well, State noted.

Megan Wilks and Mya Davis, Morgan Lakey and Jisu Hahn, and Tina Chen and Ashley Werner all won quick two-set matches to wrap up the doubles action.

W.F. West (10-0, 5-0 league) plays at Black Hills on Friday.
