Tuesday's 2A Baseball: Rochester Pounds Hoquiam 12-1

ROCHESTER — The Warriors improved to 3-0 on the season with a 12-1 win over Hoquiam here Tuesday in nonleague baseball action.

Ethan Worden led the way at the plate, knocking three hits with three RBIs.

Joel McCarthy had two hits, with a leadoff triple, and Jared Winters tripled in the fourth frame.

“We had multiple guys step up today and get some base hits,” Rochester coach Brad Quarnstrom said. “It was good to see. We swung the bats well at opportune times.”



Keegan Goldrick pitched the first four innings, and Bryce Lollar took over in the fifth and closed out the win.

“He was able to work himself out of (a jam) in the first,” Quarnstrom said of Goldrick. “He did a good job today of minimizing anything. … He stepped up today and did a very good job.”

Rochester (3-0, all nonleague games) plays at Woodland on Thursday.
