Thursday's Track & Field: Morton-White Pass Boys Capture Team Title in Rainier

RAINIER — The Morton-White Pass boys won the team title at a 10-team Central 2B League track & field meet here on Thursday.

MWP’s Tristen Storey won the 100 meter dash in 11.43 seconds and placed second in the 200 (23.61). Asher Sympson won the 3200 (11:32.68).

The 4x100 relay team of Manuel Martinez, Kaleb Rashoff, Marcos Garcia and Storey won with a time of 1:00.47.

Caliph Wideman earned second in the 110 hurdles (20.06) and Jesse Urban took second in the javelin (121-06).

The T-Wolves tallied 117 points and host Rainier finished second with 106 points. Adna earned third with 82 points.

Willy Ames won the 110 hurdles (16.35) and placed third in the 300 hurdles (45.90) and Ryan Young won the javelin (131-01) for the Pirates. Brady Collins took second in the 100 (11.59) and Zander Blankenship earned third place in the high jump (5-06).

Napavine’s Keith Olson won the shot put (45-07) and earned third in the discus (122-02). Draven Riddle won the long jump (19-02.50) and the triple jump (41-10.50).

Winlock’s Bryce Cline won the high jump (5-08) and placed fifth in the 200 (24.32).

In girls action, Napavine finished third as a team. Chloe Stewart had another strong showing for the Tigers, winning the 300 hurdles (50.77), long jump (15-10) and the triple jump (34-01) and placed second in the 100 hurdles (16.69). Haily Murray won the shot put (32-00) and took third in the high jump (4-04).



The Tigers collected 79.5 points. Rainier won the girls team title with 152 points and Ilwaco finished second with 125.5 points.

Adna and MWP finished in a tie for fourth with 73 points.

Lauryn Apperson finished second in the 800 (2:39.21) and Faith Wellander took second in the 300 hurdles (52.37). Carli Latimer finished third in the 200 (28.83) for the Pirates.

Adna’s 4x200 relay team of Hannah Bilodeau, Latimer, Joey Swenson and Jordyn Swenson placed second in 2:01.

MWP’s Emily Elswick won the discus (94-10) and the 4x100 relay team of Ashley Wurtz, Jacie Dunlap, Elexcious Hampton and Taylor Nilius won with a time of 55.62 seconds.

Katie Salguero finished second in the shot put (31-04) and Natalie Story took second in the pole vault (6-06).

Winlock’s Azhia Camps finished fourth in the discus (83-11) and Elizabeth Gabbert earned sixth in the long jump (13-06) and seventh in the 100 hurdles (21.66).

Adna will travel to Oregon City on Saturday to compete in the Willamette Invitational and hosts the Pirate Classic on Monday. MWP will travel over the Cascades on Saturday to compete in the Pasco Invitational. Napavine and Winlock compete next at the Pirate Classic on Monday.
