Thursday's Girls Tennis: Bearcats Beat Black Hills in Tiebreaker

W.F. West and Black Hills split matches, but the Bearcats won seven sets against the Wolves’ six to win the tiebreaker and pick up the victory in an Evergreen 2A Conference girls tennis match Thursday in Chehalis.

Sydney Cameron won at No. 1 singles for the Bearcats and played well in a 6-1, 6-0 victory, W.F. West coach Jack State said, and Sadie Jerome’s 6-1, 6-2 win at third singles wound up being an important match.

Mia Davis and Megan Wilks won the No. 1 doubles match to wrap up the Bearcats’ victories.

Morgan Lakey and Jisu Han took Black Hills’ Ainsley Campbell and Emily Schade to three sets to provide W.F. West with the tiebreaker edge.

W.F. West (6-0, 3-0 league) hosts Tenino on Friday.

Beavers Top Three Rivers Christian

TENINO — The Beavers swept the doubles matches and earned a 3-2 win over Three Rivers Christian in a prep girls tennis match here Thursday.

Kaylee Schow and Ally Vestal won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 doubles and Krysta Lira and Ximena Ontiveros won at No. 2 doubles for the Beavers, while Courtney Dodge picked up a tight 6-3, 7-5 win at No. 3 singles.



Tenino (4-2) plays at Chehalis on Friday.

Aberdeen Edges Centralia

ABERDEEN — Centralia and Aberdeen each won three matches here on Thursday, but the Bobcats won the match on games 48-40 in an Evergreen 2A Conference girls tennis match.

Centralia’s Angelica Vercoe won in No. 2 singles, 6-1, 6-2, and Shannon Johnson prevailed in a tough match at No. 3 singles, 6-3, 6-3.

Aberdeen’s top singles player Aleeta Pratt took down Gracie Wiley, 6-0, 6-0.

The Tigers’ top doubles duo of Rachel Wilkerson and Carissa Kaut won handily, 6-2, 6-1. Monica Jimenez-Solano and Kenhia Hinajosa-Orozco fell to Aberdeen’s Kylie Knodel and Abbie Bradt, 6-2, 6-0. Molly Scroggs and Chase Baller won over Centralia’s Noelle Pertzborn and Emily Grove, 6-2, 6-0.

Centralia hosts Tumwater on Friday in an EvCo match.
