Saturday's Cross Country: Adna’s Apperson Places Second at Nike Hole in the Wall Invitational

LAKEWOOD — In a field of 96 schools from across Washington and 272 runners in the premiere race of the day at the Nike Hole in the Wall Invitational cross country meet here on Saturday, Adna’s Austen Apperson lost his first meet of the season, finishing in second place.

Apperson completed the race in 15 minutes, 5 seconds. Woodinville’s Luke Houser won the race with a time of 14:57. Ridgefield’s Kyle Radosevich placed third with a time of 15:09.

Adna hosts a Central 2B League cross country meet on Tuesday.

Marty Wins Harvest Classic

LONGIVEW — Toledo’s Nicholas Marty won another race this season, winning the Harvest Classic cross country meet hosted by Three Rivers Christian here on Saturday.

Marty completed the race in 16 minutes, 49 seconds. Teammates Jonathon Cisneros (19:30) finished 27th and Jacob Butcher placed 40th.

In the girls race, Toledo’s Ashley White placed 9th with a time of 23:54. Maddie Stewart (25:42) finished 16th and Andrea Jones (28:22) placed 22nd for the Indians.



Toledo competes next at a Central 2B League meet in Adna on Tuesday.

Centralia, Tenino Compete at Bill Kehoe Invite

LACEY — Centralia’s Brynna Rooklidge finished 68th and Cameron Moore finished 89th for the Tigers as the highest local finishers at the Bill Kehoe South Sound Invite here on Saturday.

Rooklidge finished the race in 22 minutes, 52 seconds. Teammate Tawnee Craig (24:18) finished 102nd and Tenino’s Claire Scibelli (25:04) placed 116th. Bothell’s Kerstin Ly won the race with a time of 19:12.

In the boys race, Moore finished the race in 18:34. Tenino’s Drew Hart (19:44) placed 127th. Olympia’s Connor Griffith won the race with a time of 15:38.

Centralia hosts Tumwater on Wednesday in an EvCo dual meet while Tenino is done until the 1A Evergreen League championship race at Lake Sylvia in Montesano next Thursday, Oct. 18.
