Saturday's College Basketball: Centralia Edges Spokane in Home Opener

Centralia had four starters score in double figures to earn an 81-77 win against Spokane in an NWAC non regional men’s basketball game at Michael Smith Gymnasium on Saturday.

Jaylin Walker led the Blazers with 22 points and four assists. Tyler Meadows tallied 18 points and Taylor Peppinger added 15 points. Tyler Ashmore scored 14 points and added a team high eight rebounds.

Spokane’s Garrett White led all scorers with 31 points and Tanner McCliment-Call added 20 points.



Centralia shot 55.6 percent from the field and was 17 of 20 from the free throw line.

The Blazers scored 38 points in the first half and held off a late push by Spokane down the stretch to earn the win.

Centralia (2-1) will face Everett on Friday at 1 p.m. at Lower Columbia College in Longview in the Red Devil Classic Tournament.
