Track & Field: Big Day for White in Lacey

    LACEY — Centralia’s Kyle White had another big day in the throwing pits for the Tiger boys track squad.

    White, a senior, won the javelin (155 feet, 6 inches) and the shot put (45-6) and finished second in the discus in an Evergreen 2A Conference track and field meet at South Sound Stadium here Wednesday.

    On the girls side, Carry Larson continued to run well for the Lady Tigers with wins in the 1600 meters (5 minutes, 47 seconds) and the 3200 (12:09).

    Miriam Ash won the javelin with a toss of 88-2, while Spencer Seymer earned a win in the 200 meter dash for the boys in a time of 23.6.

    “He’s been running really well in the 200 and it seems to be his thing,” Centralia coach Tim Penman said of Seymer.

    Djordje Kasovic earned a win in the high jump (5-6), while Cory Richardson won the 1600 with a time of 4:53.6.

    “My general feeling was the kids were working hard in pretty bad weather,” said Penman. “All you can do is ask them to try and they were doing their best and I was pleased with them.”

    Centralia’s next scheduled meet will be at home with River Ridge on April 10.

Toledo Teams Fourth in Kalama

    KALAMA — Toledo’s boys and girls teams finished fourth here Wednesday in a SWW 1A League track meet.

    McKenzie Miller paces the Indian boys, taking second in the long jump (18 feet, 4 inches) and third in the 100 meters. Forrest Wallace took second in the high jump (5-06) and third in the 300-meter hurdles, Danny Aguilar was second in the triple jump (38-02) and Trevor Chambers was second in the 200 (24.27 seconds).

    On the girls side, Stephanie Yoder won the 400 in 1:05.56 and took third in the 200, while Amanda Navolynski won the pole vault (7-06).

    Toledo will run at Castle Rock on April 10.
