Centralia piled up six pins and a pair of technical falls on Wednesday to beat Black Hills, 64-18, in an Evergreen 2A Conference wrestling match.

Juan Gaspar (126 pounds), Eddie Matias (132),

Alex Hicks-Avron (138), Justin Lake (145), T.J. Smith (152), Sawyer Kassel (160), Caleb Hylton (170), and Cameron Blankenship (195) all won by pin for Centralia.

Juan Gaspar, at 126, and Eddie Matias (132) each won by technicial fall.

“The hard work we are doing in practice really showed tonight,” Centralia coach Scott Phillips said. “Our guys did the little things well tonight.”

Smith — a first-year wrestler — was a highlight for Centralia, Phillips noted.

“He went out aggressive, and wore his opponent down and got the fall,” he said. “T.J. showed a lot of heart.”

Centralia (1-0 league) wrestles at Sultan’s Sky Valley Invitational on Saturday.
