2015 Prep Football: Inside the Evergreen 2A Conference

Here is The Chronicle’s Preseason Coaches Poll on how they think the Evergreen 2A Conference will shake out...

1. Tumwater

“Like every year, it’s Tumwater and everybody else,” said W.F. West coach Bob Wollan. “They got a ton of kids back and an incredibly potent offense. They got the numbers and the athletes and an incredibly good coach staff. They’re setting the bar, and we’re all just trying to catch up.”

2. W.F. West

Lots of returning starters from a team that exceeded expectations by making the state playoffs last year. Quarterback Elijah Johnson’s got a year as a starter under his belt, plenty of weapons around him and a big offensive line.

3. Black Hills

Lots of starters are back in coach Kirk Stevens’ second year, with plenty of players moving up from solid JV and C-squad teams last year.

4. Centralia

The Tigers return a minimal amount of starters from last year’s squad, which went 0-3 in league but 5-4 overall. A third offseason in the weight room under coach Matt Whitmire should help Centralia stay competitive and fight for a playoff berth.
