ABERDEEN — Centralia played a solid game in the harbor here on Monday, defeating Aberdeen 3-1 in an Evergreen 2A Conference volleyball match.

The Tigers won the first two sets, 25-14 and 25-18. Aberdeen won the third set, 26-24, before Centralia bounced back and won the match with a 25-11 fourth set win.

Madelinn Corwin had eight kills and Kennedy Strophy tallied eight kills, three blocks and served 10 of 10. Madison Stoeckler collected eight digs, 24 assists and served 11 of 13 and Kylie Sharp contributed 24 digs and served 14 of 16 with five aces. Evie Rooklidge served 10 of 11 with four aces and 14 digs for the Tigers.

“For the first few sets, we played really well. It was an opportunity for us tonight that we were able to get some other girls in and mix things around. The first two sets, we had a really good energy and were clicking and coming together really well,” Centralia coach Marti Smith said. “The third set, it was touch and go all the way. We had 11 hitting errors in that third set and at times, we were going for too much instead of just taking a little off and living for the next play. It was definitely a good learning experience for us. We bounced back in the fourth set, took charge and didn’t let our foot off the pedal. I’m proud of how they came back.”

Smith highlighted Strophy and Sharp, saying the two seniors played their best match of the year. Stophy had one hitting error in 23 swings.

Centralia (5-5, 4-2) faces Black Hills Tuesday on Ron Brown court.
