SEATTLE — The Cardinals flew up to the Emerald City on Monday and returned home with a 53-43 win against Seattle Lutheran in a non-league boys basketball game.

Bryce Cline tallied 20 points to lead Winlock. Noah Patching added 10 points and Coleson Richendollar tallied seven points.

Elliott Wicks scored 16 points for the Saints. Andrew Meyer totaled 11 points and Izaiah Duenaz was also in double figures with 10 points.

Winlock had a big first half, jumping out to a 15-9 lead after one quarter before expanding the advantage to 32-17 at halftime. Seattle Lutheran won the second half, 25-20, but it wasn’t enough to threaten the Cardinals.

“We did OK. We haven't had time to work on anything. It’s been game, practice. We’re just trying to survive the stretch,” Winlock coach Nick Bamer said. “We’re doing a lot of good things. We’re getting everybody in and trying to figure out who we are. I like where we’re at.”

Bamer gave kudos to Nathan Suhrbier and Joe Welch for coming off the bench and contributing quality minutes.

Winlock (2-1) travels to Cathlamet to face the Mules on Thursday in a non-league game.
