Friday's Track & Field: Rochester, Centralia Split Team Titles at Dual Meet

Rochester won the boys team title, but Centralia won the girls team title in an Evergreen 2A Conference dual Track & Field meet at Tiger Stadium in Centralia on Friday.

On the girls side, the Tigers won 269-101. Centralia’s Makayla Erickson won the 800 (2:45.85) and the 1600 (6:04.84). Kacey Emery won the shot put (28-08) and javelin (82-11), and Anastasia Ulrigg won the long jump (14-08.50) and the triple jump (30-06).

Centralia’s Rebekah Robbins won the 100 (15.10), Tawnee Craig won the 200 (31.00) and Miriam Martinez won the 400 (1:06.13). Satine Sas won the discus (71-10.50) and Sheila Johnson won the pole vault (7-00) for the Tigers.

Centralia’s 4x100 (Sarah Williams, Rebecca Demaris, Robbins, Craig), 4x200 (Craig, Martinez, Ulrigg, Robbins) and 4x400 (Erickson, Martinez, Craig, Laura Geringer) teams each won.

Rochester earned some wins, including Michala Lowry winning the 3200 (13:54.58). Kaelee Murphy won both the 100 hurdles (19.56) and the 300 hurdles (57.95). Kate Peltier won the high jump (4-06) for the Warriors.



On the boys side, the Warriors won 302-222. Rochester’s Gerardo Sanchez-Carpio won the 100 (11.83) and the 400 (53.17). Patrick Riley won the 200 (25.01) and the high jump (5-04) and Chris Latham won the triple jump (36-04.50), long jump (15-11) and the 300 hurdles (49.69).

Chase Dickinson won the shot put (36-01) and the discus (92-01) for the Warriors. Daniel May won the javelin (132-11) and Seth Moceri won the 800 (2:16.94).

Rochester’s 4x100 team (Michael North, Connor Haskins, Riley, Sanchez-Carpio) won in 47.71 seconds and the 4x400 team (Ethan Proctor, Moceri, Riley, Sanchez-Carpio) won in 3:47.95.

Centralia’s Vance Voetberg won the 1600 (4:40.84) and the 3200 (10:10.29). Jessee Weeks won the 110 hurdles (22.27) and Ben Corwin won the pole vault (10-00).

Centralia is back in action Wednesday at another league dual meet at Tumwater, while Rochester hosts Black Hills on Wednesday in an EvCo dual meet.
