Friday's Prep Softball: Adna Caps Regular Season With Victory Over Montesano

ADNA — Haley Rainey got it done in the circle and at the plate to lead the Pirates to an 11-8 victory over Montesano in a non-league softball game here on Friday.

Rainey allowed five hits, three earned runs and three walks while striking out seven batters. She was 2-for-3 at the plate with two doubles, two runs and a RBI.

Olivia Rodriguez was 2-for-3 with a home run, two runs and three RBI. Karlee VonMoos was 2-for-2 with a home run, two runs and two RBI. Emma Eko hit a double and Skye Snow scored two runs for the Pirates.

Montesano scored four runs in the first and two runs in the third for a 6-0 lead. Adna’s bats caught fire in the fourth inning, scoring 10 runs to take a 10-8 lead. The Pirates added an insurance run in the sixth inning.

Adna ends the regular season 19-1 overall and 14-0 in league games. The C2BL champs will begin the District 4 2B softball tournament on Wednesday at 2 p.m., facing the winner of Winlock/Ilwaco at Borst Park in Centralia.

Napavine Tops La Center



LA CENTER — Ada Williams pitched seven solid innings in the circle to lead Napavine to a 7-4 win over La Center in a non-league softball game here on Friday.

Williams allowed six hits and struck out six batters.

Rae Sisson was 2-for-4 with a double and a RBI and Kaiya Larson was 2-for-4 with two runs for the Tigers.

Napavine and La Center were tied at four going into the seventh inning. Larson, Solana Sanchez and Cailyn Milton all hit singles to start the inning as the Tigers plated three runs in the seventh and held off the Wildcats in the bottom of the inning.

Napavine ends the regular season 9-11 overall and 6-8 in league games. The Tigers are the No. 7 seed out of the Central 2B League and will face the C2BL No. 3 seed Onalaska on Monday at 6 p.m. in a loser out game at Borst Park in Centralia.
