KELSO — The Bearcats rebounded from their first loss of the season by defeating Kelso 1856 to 1496 in non-league girls bowling action here at Hilander Bowl on Friday.

W.F. West took the first game 4-2 thanks to three points in the head-to-head matches. Kelsey Strittmatter, a junior for the Bearcats, led the way in the first tilt with a high score of 209. The Bearcats won game two 5-1 behind a high score of 170 from Ellie Bunker.

In the Baker games the Bearcats were victorious by scores of 139-119 and 199-101.

“We have been switching our lineup around trying to find a lineup that compliments how the girls are bowling. We are winning but still haven't found that consistent combination,” noted W.F. West coach Don Bunker in reference to the first Bunker game.

The Bearcats rolled out another rendition of their lineup in the second compilation game and achieved their desired effect.

“We switched things up again and the girls really closed the match out with a terrific Baker game,” noted Bunker.

Jessica Loflin added rounds of 155 and 136 for W.F. West while Brianna Powe rolled rounds of 118 and 165. In junior varsity action Kayleigh Leach bowled what Bunker deemed an “incredible 228” for the high score of the night at any level.

W.F. West (5-1, 3-1 conference) will travel to Tumwater on Monday for a conference match.
