ADNA — Camden Ryan and Gavin Guard combined to throw a no-hitter in Game 1, and Adna cruised to win 14-0 and 11-1 in a Central 2B League doubleheader sweep of Pe Ell-Willapa Valley here Friday.

Ryan started and struck out three over three innings in the opener, with Guard fanning five over the last two innings to complete the five-frame no-no.

“We pitched well,” Adna coach Jon Rooklidge said, “really, really well.”

The bats, too, were solid, with 18 hits in Game 1. Elmer Loose went 2 for 3, Sawyer Burdick was 2 for 2 with a double and two RBIs, Conner Weed went 2 for 2 with a triple, Matthew Scheuber was 1 for 1 and drove in three runs, and Chance Fay hit a double. Zach Berg, Abel Ingle and Trevor Minkoff were each 2 for 2, with Ingle knocking in three runs and Minkoff driving in two.

The hitting didn’t slow down in the nightcap. Loose went 3 for 4, Minkoff hit a double, and Fay and Burdick were each 2 for 3 with three RBIs.

Ingle got the win on the mound, needing just 55 pitches in five innings and allowing four hits with four strikeouts and no walks.

“We just played really, really well offensively, defensively and pitching,” Rooklidge said. “All three phases were where we needed to be.”

Cub Bair hit an RBI single for PWV in Game 2.

Adna (12-3, 11-1 league) plays at Onalaska in a doubleheader on Monday. Pe Ell-Willapa Valley (5-9, 4-8 league) hosts Napavine on Monday for a doubleheader.

Onalaska Takes Two From Morton-White Pass

RANDLE — Morton-White Pass had a lead in both games against Onalaska here on Friday, but the Loggers came back in each game to sweep a Central 2B League baseball doubleheader.

The Loggers won the opener, 9-5, scoring four runs in the fifth inning to erase a 5-3 deficit.

Tanner McLean started for Onalaska and struck out four, while Ashton Haight went 2 for 4 with two runs for the Loggers.

Kaleb Rashoff had a home run and a triple and Dylan Richards was 2 for 4 for MWP. Tyler Brown came on in relief and struck out five.

MWP led 3-2 going into the seventh inning of Game 2, but Onalaska rallied with seven runs in the final frame for a 9-3 win.

Rashoff started on the mound and pitched three innings with six strikeouts.

Matt Kurzeika pitched a complete game for Onalaska, allowing three runs on three hits with six strikeouts.

Kyle Trulson and AJ Volk each had a hit for Onalaska, while Gavyn Higdon and Brayden Webb had hits for MWP. The Timberwolves, though, walked 15 batters in the nightcap alone.

“It was a tough night. Our pitching has been decent all year,” MWP coach Lee Metcalf said. “It was one of those nights where we hit the ball OK the first game, but our pitching didn’t take of the things they needed to do to win the game.”

MWP (4-8, 4-8) hosts Rainier in Morton on Monday in a league doubleheader, while Onalaska (7-6, 6-5) hosts Adna the same day.
