Centralia couldn’t get much going here against Grays Harbor on Friday, falling 3-1 in an NWAC West Region volleyball match in Centralia.

Grays Harbor won the first set with a score of 25-18, but Centralia bounced back and won the second set, 25-14. The third set was close, but the Chokers prevailed, 25-23. Grays Harbor put the match away with a 25-18 fourth set.

Autumn Durand recorded 19 kills and eight digs. Tianna Hanohano added eight kills and four digs and Macey Martin led the Blazers with 16 digs. Peyton Timmons tallied 34 assists.

Centralia (10-17, 3-6) is on the road to face Highline on Wednesday in a West Region match.

Centralia Falls to Pierce

LAKEWOOD — Pierce scored three first half goals and Centralia wasn’t able to keep up, with the Blazers falling 3-1 in an NWAC West Region women’s soccer game here on Saturday.

Pierce scored first on a goal by Kahilu Hoopii. Centralia’s Natalie Coleman evened the score at one, but Pierce scored two goals late in the first half and held on in the second half for the win.

Centralia goalkeeper Haylee Perkinson made 13 saves in the loss.

Centralia (3-14-1, 2-10) hosts Highline in the final regular season home game on Wednesday at Tiger Stadium in Centralia.
