Centralia Defeats Clackamas, Skagit Valley at Highline Fall Classic

AUBURN — Centralia took down Clackamas in pool play on Friday and defeated Skagit Valley on Saturday in the Highline Fall Classic here over the weekend.

On Friday, Centralia faced Shoreline and Clackamas in pool play, falling to Shoreline 2-1.

The Lady Blazers took the first set 25-23, but lost the next set 25-22 and the third set 15-13.

In the afternoon match against Clackamas, Centralia won 2-1. The Blazers won the first set 25-20, but Clackamas won the second set 25-20 to force a third set, which Centralia won 15-10.

On Saturday, Centralia opened the day by wrapping up pool play against Grays Harbor, losing 2-1. The Chokers won the first set 25-17, but Centralia bounced back in set two with a 25-22 win. Grays Harbor won the third set 15-12.



The Blazers then faced off against Skagit Valley, sweeping the match 3-0. Centralia won the three sets 25-20, 25-18 and needed extra points in the third set for the sweep, 27-25.

Centralia took on Grays Harbor to end the tournament, falling in five sets.

Grays Harbor won the first set 25-14, but Centralia evened the match at one with a 26-24 second set win. The Chokers won set three 25-22, but Centralia again tied the match up with a 25-20 fourth set win. Grays Harbor won the fifth set 15-11.

Host Highline won the Fall Classic tournament, finishing undefeated in five matches over the weekend.

Centralia (5-7) hosts Umpqua on Friday at 5:30 p.m. in a non-league contest.
