The Trailblazers came out with a spirited effort, but NWAC West Region rival Lower Columbia was able to pull away in the second half for a 74-65 victory Saturday in Centralia.

The win kept Lower Columbia undefeated in league play with a 5-0 record, while dropping the Blazers to 1-4.

Joshua Broughton posted a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds for Centralia but that wasn’t enough to keep pace with the Red Devils, who shot 50 percent from the floor after halftime.

Centralia led 26-25 at the intermission, but Lower Columbia outscored the Trailblazers by 10 points the rest of the way.

Lawrence Russell and Keun Palu-Thompson led the Red Devils with 21 points each.

Vidal Griffin notched 11 points for the Trailblazers along with five rebounds and three assists.

Centralia (1-15, 1-4 league) hosts Green River on Wednesday.
