Babe Ruth 14s: Twin Cities Trounces South Thurston

The Twin Cities All-Stars kept their 10-run streak intact with a 17-3 win over South Thurston in the final pool play game of the 14-year-old District 3 Babe Ruth Baseball Tournament Tuesday in Chehalis.

Twin Cities led 5-0 after an inning, and held South Thurston to three-hits in the five-inning affair.

Jerod Frias started on the mound, threw a pair of no-hit innings and went 2 for 2 at the plate with a double. Colton Baker added two hits with a double, and Lane Douglass and Daniel Fagerness each had two hits.



Douglass also pitched an inning, striking out the side in the fourth, and Baker threw a scoreless fifth frame.

Twin Cities enters Wednesday’s bracket play as the No. 1 seed, and will take on No. 4 South Thurston at 1 p.m., back at Stan Hedwall Park in Chehalis. The winner will play for the District 3 championship at 7 p.m. against either No. 2-seed Mount St. Helens or No. 3 seed Grays Harbor, who play at 4 p.m.

The District 3 champion and runner-up will both advance to the 14-year-old Southern Washington Babe Ruth State Tournament, which runs July 15-19 in Richland.
