LEWISTON, Ida. — Host Lewiston took advantage of Twin Cities’ errors and cruised to a 10-4 win on the final day of pool play here Tuesday at the 14-year-old Pacific Northwest Babe Ruth Regional Tournament.

The loss ended the Twins’ run with a 1-3 record in pool play action at the regional level, after winning the Southern Washington state tournament.

Twin Cities managed six hits on Tuesday, with Brock Jones and Tyler Milton each going 2 for 3 with an RBI. Gabe O’Neil and Ryan Pedersen each went 1 for 3.

O’Neil worked three innings on the mound, giving up five hits and four runs with a pair of strikeouts. Gabe Fuller also went three innings, allowing four runs with two strikeouts, and Jones struck out one and gave up a run to close things out.

Twin Cities trailed 5-0 heading into the bottom of the third inning, but scored twice — on a hit from Milton, an error, and an RBI single from Jones — to keep it close.

Lewiston went up 6-2 with a run in the top of the fourth, and Twin Cities responded with another run via Milton’s RBI single. The Twins added their final run of the summer in the bottom of the sixth, on an RBI single from Pedersen.

Twin Cities had a bye scheduled for Wednesday. The top two teams from each of the two pools will compete in bracket play today to determine a regional champion, which will then advance to the 14-year-old Babe Ruth World Series in Pine Bluff, Ark.
