2B Football: Rainier Cruises Past Morton-White Pass

RANDLE — The Timberwolves had six turnovers and Rainier took full advantage in a 57-8 win in a SWW 2B Football Mountain Division football game on Friday.

Rainier’s Brody Klein had 68 yards on six carries and a touchdown and had five catches for 77 yards and a touchdown. Kyle Peterson had seven carries for 60 yards and a touchdown.

Quarterback Mikey Green was 7 of 13 passing for 146 yards and two scores and also ran for two more touchdowns.

MWP’s Keegan Kelly had 56 yards on 11 carries and was 4 of 12 passing for 48 yards. Jayce Dean had one catch for 30 yards and Layten Collette had two catches for 17 yards.



Rainier scored 30 points in the first quarter and added 21 points in the second quarter for a 51-0 lead at halftime. Elias McMullin scored on a 7-yard touchdown run for the T-Wolves in the fourth quarter and Kelly ran in the conversion.

MWP lost five fumbles and had one interception.

“We dug ourselves a hole early, that was the story of the night,” MWP coach Lee Metcalf said. “We didn’t match up well physically. They’re a little bigger, a little stronger than us. We’ll keep fighting, we’ve got one more game left.”

MWP (1-7, 0-3) travels to Adna on Friday.
