2B Football: Napavine Rolls Past Morton-White Pass

RANDLE — Laythan Demarest threw for 342 yards and four touchdowns as the Tigers won 56-0 against Morton-White Pass in a SWW 2B Mountain Division football game here on Friday night.

Demarest was 15-of-21 passing. Gavin Parker had 140 yards and three touchdowns on six carries and Scott Burdick tallied 23 yards on six carries. Cade Evander caught five passes for 121 yards and two touchdowns and Lucas Dahl caught four passes for 77 yards and a touchdown.

MWP quarterback Keegan Kelly was 4-of-18 for 33 yards. Elias McMullin had nine attempts rushing for 45 yards and Carter Dantinne caught one pass for 11 yards. Hunter Hazen caught one pass for 20 yards.

Demarest connected with Evander for a 51-yard touchdown pass to start the scoring. Parker punched in a score on a 21-yard run. Demarest completed a 42-yard touchdown pass to Lucas Dahl and then completed a 47-yard touchdown pass to Landon Dahl for a 28-0 lead after one quarter.



Parker ran in a 1-yard touchdown and Demarest connected with Evander again for a 6-yard TD pass. Parker ran 62 yards for a 49-0 lead at intermission.

Deacon Parker recovered a fumble in the end zone in the fourth quarter.

“They looked good. Next week should be a heck of a game,” MWP coach Lee Metcalf said. “That’s going to be the league title right there. They looked real sharp, they threw the ball well. We just had a hard time getting going. We’re just trying to get our kids to play better every week.”

Napavine (6-0, 2-0) travels to Onalaska next Friday for a big Mountain Division showdown. MWP (1-5, 0-2) travels to Vancouver on Saturday for a 1 p.m. non-league game.
