ONALASKA — Cade Lawrence scored four touchdowns, and Onalaska shut out Wahkiakum, 50-0, here Friday night in a District 4 crossover football game.
The top-ranked Loggers (9-0) now advance to the State 2B football playoffs, and will await the release of the state bracket on Sunday to learn their first-round opponent.
“It feels great,” Logger coach Mazen Saade said. “Our kids are excited about that. This was their next goal on their list, to win a crossover and get into the state playoffs, and they’ve done that.”
Lawrence ran the ball nine times for 88 yards, and scored on runs of 11, 1, 12, and 4 yards.
Ashton Haight ran 18 times for 269 yards and two touchdowns, and kicked things off with a 70-yard touchdown run in the first quarter.
Quarterback Lucas Kreger added six carries for 60 yards and a touchdown.
The defense, meanwhile, Wahkiakum to 4 rushing yards, but the Loggers committed 12 penalties for 85 yards.
“There’s quite a few things coming off a bye week we need to work on, across the boards,” Saade said. “We’ve got to shore some things up in our program. It just showed that we came off a bye week, but it’s not a bad gig to come off a bye week and score 50 and shut a team out, either.”
