2B Cross Country: Morton-White Pass Boys Win Team Title at Central 2B League Opener

ONALASKA — The Morton-White Pass boys were able to capture the team title at the Central 2B League Opener cross country race here on Tuesday.

Ther Timberwolves’ Asher Sympson was the highest finisher in seventh place with a time of 18 minutes. Teammate Matt Cooper placed ninth with a time of 18 minutes, 21 seconds and Alex Brown placed 13th with a time of 18:29.

David Martinez also cracked the Top 20 for MWP, earning 17th place in 19:18.

Toledo’s Nicholas Marty was the highest local finisher in third place with a time of 16:37. Rainier’s Dylan Davis finished fifth with a time of 17:29 and Ryan Doidge earned eighth place for the Mountaineers with a time of 18:12.

Christain Paz Tapia was the highest finisher for Mossyrock, earning 11th place with a time of 18:24. Lethon Fitch led Onalaska in 26th place with a time of 20:25 and Adna’s Aaron Aselton was the top finisher for the Pirates with a time of 21:16.

Ilwaco’s Daniel Quintana won the race with a time of 15:46. Rainier finished second as a team and Ilwaco took third place.



In the girls race, Rainier’s Selena Niemi won with a time of 20:30 and teammate Sophie Beadle finished in second place with a time of 20:38. Isabaella Holmes, Lorianne Price, Lauren Jones and Clara Wagner finished 11th through 14th for the Mountaineers to help Rainier claim the girls team title.

MWP’s Olyvia Brownell placed fifth with a time of 22:46 and teammate Ayricka Hughes finished ninth with a time of 23:59.

Onalaska’s Jennifer Reiman led the Loggers in 10th place with a time of 24:21. Toledo’s Greenlee Clark placed 16th with a time of 25:35. Adna’s Melli Wolf earned 24th place with a time of 27:07.

Ilwaco finished second as a team and MWP placed third as a team.

Adna, Onalaska, MWP, Mossyrock and Toledo will all be back in action next Tuesday at the Fast & Flat race in Randle. Rainier will head to Olympia on Saturday for the Capital Invite.
