2B Track: Toledo’s Wallace Wins State High Jump Championship

Posted

CHENEY — Toledo’s Forrest Wallace left plenty of space between himself and the rest of the competition.

The senior brought claimed a title here on Friday at the State 2B Track & Field Championships, winning the high jump by a relatively wide 3-inch margin.

Wallace cleared 6 feet, 4 inches in the event, just an inch off his own personal record. He had already cleared 6-foot-2 — which would have been good enough to win — before upping the bar to 6-4.

Raymond’s Kason Koski finished second, at 6-1, and Okanogan’s Mason Guerrette — who battled with Wallace for the best 2B high jump mark in the state throughout the season — finished third, at 6-0.
