Prep Baseball: Montesano’s Olsen Voted 2A/1A MVP

Montesano senior Riley Olsen was voted the Most Valuable Player of the Evergreen 2A/1A League, headlining the annual All-League voting of the league’s baseball coaches.

Olsen, a pitcher, helped the Bulldogs to a 13-1 league record and the regular season championship, closing out the season with a five-inning perfect game in a 10-0 win over Eatonville.

Tenino finished third and landed senior shortstop and occasional relief pitcher Zeb Chamberlain on the All-League first team.



Rochester shortstop Wyatt Singer was a first-team pick, after hitting a whopping .517 with 22 RBIs for the Warriors. Teammate Andy Sommer was a first-team outfielder, after hitting .400 and drawing 14 walks over the course of the season.

Tenino pitcher Kaleb Strawn, first baseman Dakota Bellrose, second baseman Robbie Wall and outfielders Thomas Pier and Greigh Hill were all second-team picks, along with Rochester outfielder Josh Larson, who hit .350 this season.
