WINLOCK — United made it interesting, but moved to the top of the 1A Trico Division with a tight 3-2 win over La Center here on Saturday.

The Toledo-Winlock combination squad was playing its first home league game since March 24 after a six-game road stint, and gave the home crowd a memorable show.

The Wildcats led 1-0 at halftime and led 2-0 in the 56th minute, when Adair Garibay finally put United on the board with a penalty kick.

Raul Plancarte then scored on a Garibay assist just four minutes later to knot things up at 2-2, and Orlando Hurtado scored what wound up being the game winner in the 72nd minute on an assist from Fernando Munoz.

The win puts United in first place in the Trico with a 6-1-1 overall record, while Stevenson sits in second at 6-2-1.

United (7-3-2 overall) will play its last four regular-season games at home, and will host Stevenson on Tuesday in Winlock at 7 p.m.
