Prep Track & Field: MWP Wins Three at BCS Invite

BELLEVUE — Morton-White Pass’ athletes accounted for three wins here on Saturday at the 20-team BCS Invite track meet at Interlake High School.

Ian Louderback won the javelin by over 14 feet, taking the event with a toss of 178 feet, 4 inches, and took third in the shot put. Ryan Louderback finished fifth in the event (140-8).

Zach Elswick won the long jump in 20-11.75, and finished second in the triple jump at 41-0.25. The MWP boys finished fifth as a team.

Kenzie Anderson won the 800 meters in 2:24.46 for the MWP girls and took second in the long jump, with Haley Kolb adding a win in the 100-meter hurdles (17.03). The girls’ 4x400 relay team (Anderson, Kolb, Jesseeka Hughes and Larkin Farrish) finished second.

Morton-White Pass will run at a 1A Trico League meet in Kalama on Wednesday.

Gaffney Wins Two at Shelton Invite



SHELTON — Adna’s Regyn won two of the three races she entered here Saturday at the 55th-annual Shelton Invite track meet at Highclimber Stadium.

Gaffney, a senior sprinter who has signed with Washington State University, won the 100 meters in 12.70 seconds, as the only 2B runners in the field. She also won the 200 meters (25.49 seconds), and was the only 2B runner in the top 10.

Gaffney finished second in the 400, finishing in 58.85 seconds and coming in second only to North Thurston’s Alexis Ross (58.26).

Adna’s Isabella Elwood finished fourth in the high jump at an even 5 feet, and the Adna girls finished seventh as a team.

Adna will run in a Pacific 2B League meet at Chief Leschi in Puyallup on Wednesday.
