McKitrick Helps Trappers Top Bethel, 4-2

TENINO — Trapper pitcher Kolton McKitrick threw four perfect innings as Tenino topped Bethel 4-2 here Monday in Junior Legion baseball action.

McKitrick pitched 4⅓ innings and struck out four batters and had all three of his pitches going for him.

“He threw awesome today,” Trapper coach Justin Livingston said. “He was throwing a really heavy fastball, had some nice change ups and a nice curveball.

“All three of his pitches were dialed in,” he added.

Livingston noted that the Bethel pitchers were the toughest his team had seen since the high school season, however, it wasn’t enough to keep the Trappers from manufacturing some runs.

After being hit by a pitch, Devante Harris opened the scoring when he crossed the plate on a fielder’s choice from second in the opening frame.

Zeb Chamberlain knocked in 2-runs which was part of a 3-run fourth inning Tenino rally that put the game out of reach.

Travis Sanchez added a double and helped pitch out of a jam in the fifth inning as Tenino earned its 11th win of the season.

The Trappers (11-0) will host Tumwater at 6 p.m. on July 5.
