For the third year in a row, W.F. West’s Ali Graham has been voted the Evergreen 2A Conference’s Pitching MVP.

Graham, a senior who will play for Oregon Tech next spring, shared the award with teammate Mattie Boucher the past two seasons. This year, she led the Bearcats to a 9-0 record in EvCo play while going 13-2 on the season with a 1.11 ERA and 98 strikeouts in 69 ⅔ innings of work, while walking nine batters.

She was solid at the plate as well, hitting a team-high .583 with 43 RBIs. Her seven home runs were tied with freshman Ashlee Vadala for the team lead, and both players set a new single-season Bearcat home run record.

Black Hills’ Lexi Tarrow was the EvCo’s Offensive MVP, and W.F. West coach Mike Keen was the league’s Coach of the Year.

The Bearcats landed five players on the 10-player All-League first team, in catcher Caitlin Reynolds (.554 batting average, 32 RBIs), shortstop Jessica McKay (.538 average, 27 RBIs), first-baseman/pitcher Vadala (.509 average, 31 RBIs), freshman second baseman Olivia Dean (.439 average), and outfielder Roni Braun (.541 average, 24 RBIs).

Centralia shortstop Payton Pocklington and outfielder Megan Shelley — both juniors — were also on the All-League first-team, along with Tumwater pitcher Jocelyn Glasgo and outfielder Alyvia Owen, and Black Hills designated hitter Kassi Ward.

W.F. West third-baseman Kassidy Grandorff (.343 average) and outfielder Tessa Wollan (.390 average) were both second-team picks.

Centralia second-baseman Leti Ramirez and outfielder Madi Crews were both second-team picks, along with Tumwater catcher Kelsey Killough, infielder Kaylee Clarke and outfielder Madison Pleasant. Black Hills infielder Aly Gill and outfielder Chantal Won were also second-team picks.

W.F. West (19-3) will open State 2A Softball Tournament action at noon on Friday with a first-round game against Port Angeles.
