FORKS — Elaun Sherwood, Jessica Carroll and Ali Brossard chipped in two goals apiece as Napavine shut out Forks 11-0 in SWW 1A League Evergreen Division soccer action here Tuesday.

“I thought, despite the conditions of the field, the girls were able to pass the ball really well and maintain possession for the first part of the game,” Tiger coach Allen Anderson said, "We went out, played hard, and had fun.”

Sherwood, Carroll and Brossard also combined for four assists. Other Tigers that got into the act of scoring were Sam Grove, Josie Dekoker, Emily Potter, Hazel Dekoker and Cassie Edwards. Potter also had a team-high two assists.

“I was pleased that we were able to get some girls that normally sit an opportunity to play,” Anderson said. “They enjoyed themselves and had fun. Now we've got to get ready for Montesano.”

Napavine (11-4) plays its final league game of the season at Montesano on Thursday.

On Monday, the Tigers will meet Ocosta — the only other District IV 2B school with soccer — in Tumwater to determine which team gets a berth into the District 1/2/3/4 2B Soccer Tournament. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. The teams split games — both by 1-0 scores — during the regular season, with each team winning at home.

United Shuts Out Ocosta

WESTPORT — Toledo-Winlock United picked up its sixth shutout victory of the season with a 4-0 SWW 1A League Evergreen Division win over Ocosta here Tuesday night.

Brittany Hope scored twice, Mercy Crocker scored and added an assist, Amy Trujillo scored, and Emily Waag, Annika Wendschlag and Brianna Votaw all had assists for United.

Courtney Hollis got the shutout in goal.

“They only had one shot, so our defense did really well,” United coach Horst Malunat said, citing defenders Tiffany Kinzie, Kylee Harlan, and Tyrah and Alinia Boone for their play.

The win boosts United to 8-5-1 on the season (8-3 league) and, mathematically, seals them into second place in the Evergreen Division, behind just Montesano.

United will host Forks in Toledo on Friday for Senior Night, and play a nonleague contest at Kalama on Saturday before heading into the District IV 1A Soccer Tournament next week.
