2B Track: Gaffney, Schulz Win Four at Central 2B Meet

ONALASKA — Adna’s Regyn Gaffney and Pe Ell’s Josh Schulz each won four events here Thursday in a Central 2B League track meet.

Gaffney won her usual sprinting tripleheader — the 100-meters (12.42 seconds), 200 (25.94) and 400 (59.99) while also hauling in a first in the long jump (16 feet, 11 inches) while leading the Adna girls to a first-place team finish.

Schulz, meanwhile, picked up firsts in the 100 (11.28), 200 (23.12), high jump and long jump (19-05). The junior’s high jump mark of 6-foot-4 tied a school record and is currently the best jump in the 2B ranks by 4 inches.

The boys meet was won by Onalaska, which took both relays and got a first-place finish from Riley Girt in the 1600 (4:52) and Nate Masciola in the 3200 (12:03.97). Girt also finished second in the 800 (2:12.32) and 400 (54.55).

The Loggers’ Kiefer Kastl was first in the shot put at 42-06.

Mossyrock’s Jess White won the 400 (53.76), while teammate Logan Gootgeld won the javelin (137-09). Rylen Hurd won the triple jump for the Vikings (40-09.25) and was second in the 100 (11.54).

Adna’s Josh Larson was first in the 800 (2:11.89) and second in the high jump (5-08). Pe Ell’s Sophomore Tyler Justice won the 110-meter hurdles (17.42) and the 300 hurdles (43.68), while his Trojan teammate Taylor Prestegord won the discus (110-07).

On the girls side, Onalaska’s Bernie Hayden won the 3200 (13:53.96) and the discus (67-06). Fellow Logger Lydia Johnson won the javelin (79-01).



Adna’s Isabella Elwood won the 300-meter hurdles (56.61) and high jump (4-10). Mossyrock’s Alicia Herrera won the 1600 (5:53) and teammate Amber St. Pierre won the triple jump (28-05.5).

Mossyrock, Onalaska and Pe Ell will all run at the Lewis County Invitational on Saturday in Centralia.

Toledo’s Echtle Wins Four in Toutle Lake

TOUTLE — Toledo’s Daniel Echtle won four events at a Central 2B League track meet here on Thursday, while teammate Courtney Moore added two first-place finishes and a second.

Echtle won the 110-meter hurdles (16.16), the 300 hurdles (42.9), the long jump (19-4.5) and triple jump (41-2). Forrest Wallace won the high jump (5-10) and took second in the 400 (56.18)

Winlock’s Evan Mitchell won the 400 (56.16) and the javelin (142-8).

On the girls side, Moore picked up wins for Toledo in the 100 (13.32), the long jump (14-4) and a second place finish in the triple jump (27-7).

Toledo and Winlock will both run at the Lewis County Invitational in Centralia today.
