RAINIER — The Beavers benefitted from a handful of forfeits to end the SWW 1A League Evergreen Division wrestling season with a win here Wednesday night.

Tenino wrapped up its league slate with a 3-3 record (10-6 overall), courtesy of a 53-22 win over the Mountaineers.

Steven Lomax started things off right for the Beavers with a 15-0 technical fall win at 112-lbs.

“He went out and just took care of business,” Tenino coach Jeff Thummel said of Lomax, who was tabbed Beaver of the Match. “We’ve been working on him not getting reversed. He was close today, but he didn’t give up any reversals.”

Tyler Langford (140) and Jason Barrus (145) each won via pin for Tenino, which wrestled at Ilwaco’s Beach Brawl tournament on Saturday.

“We just wanted to come in, get a team win, and stay healthy, because districts is right around the corner,” Thummel said.
