Centralia scored three goals in the first half to cruise to a 4-0 win over W.F. West in an Evergreen 2A Conference match on Thursday in Chehalis.

With the win, Centralia clinched second place in the EvCo.

The Tigers got on the board in the fifth minute, as a W.F. West defender accidentally headed the ball into his own goal. In the 24th minute, Luis Madrigal made it 2-0 on a laser shot. Three minutes later, Laurence Silva buried a penalty kick after a W.F. West foul in the box to make it 3-0 at halftime.

In the 66th minute, Binod Sapkota capped off the win with a goal.

“Binod had a really good game offensively,” Strodemier said. “We could’ve played better...but all in all we controlled possession, had good passes offensively and moved the ball around well.”

The Tigers had eight corner kicks to the Bearcats’ one.

“I was pleased with our team, we have three starters out so we brought up some JV players,” W.F. West coach Tino Sanchez said. “They are learning and I enjoyed them a lot and we’ll get there soon.”

W.F. West (3-12-1, 0-6 league) faces Aberdeen at home on Tuesday. Centralia (7-5-2, 3-3) will play next on May 7 in Districts with the opponent to be determined.
