ROCHESTER — The last time the Beavers and Warriors faced off in a rivalry matchup, Rochester won handily in Tenino. This time, Tenino traveled to Rochester and got its revenge, winning 47-31 here in Evergreen 2A/1A League boys basketball action on Friday.

Nihls Peterson led the charge with 13 points for the Beavers, who held Rochester to just 10 of 52 (19 percent) shooting.

"You're not going to beat anybody scoring 31 points at this level," Rochester coach Mark Goldrick said. "We can come out and put some points on the board, then we'll have a couple games like this. We're just not consistent."

Rochester also struggled at the free throw line, hitting 9 of 18 from the stripe. The Beavers scored in double digits in every quarter, while the Warriors couldn't get out of single digits in any frame.

Brandon Rogers scored a team-high 8 points for Rochester, while Josh Kennedy compiled 7 points and 13 rebounds.

"We just couldn't get any momentum or offensive rhythm going," Goldrick said. "They (Tenino) have obviously got better and played a good game tonight."

Tano Bailon added 9 points for Tenino.

Rochester (3-9 league, 3-15 overall) will play at Hoquiam and Tenino (3-9 league, 5-11 overall) will host Elma, both on Wednesday.
