2B Track: Five Locals Win Two Apiece at C2BL Track Championships

KALAMA — Mossyrock’s Levi Munoz, Napavine’s Conner Locke and Pe Ell’s Tyler Justice each won two events on the boys side, and Napavine’s Mollie Olson and Adna’s Devanie Kleemeyer each won two on the girls side here Friday at the Central 2B League championships.

Locke, the defending state champion in the 100 meters, won his signature event in 11.48 seconds, and took the 200 in 23.54. Draven Riddle added a second-place finish in the triple jump for the Tigers, while Cole Van Wyck was third in the shot put.

Munoz won the triple jump at 43 feet, 3 inches, and took the long jump at 21-0. He teamed up with Sean Johnson, Lucas Johnson and Justin Gootgeld to win the 4x400, and Lucas and Sean Johnson finished 1-2 in the 400 (52.21 and 53.22).

Justice swept the hurdles, winning the 110-meter event in 16.59 seconds and the 300 in 40.41. He also finished third in the 200 and the triple jump. Teammate Andrew Schulz was second in the long jump, and Bradley Prestegord won the discus with a 134-06 toss. Jonah Yost took second in the shot put for the Trojans.

Austen Apperson won the 1600 (4:47.40) and took second in the 3200 — finishing four-hundredths of a second behind Kalama’s Jarod Hulsizer — for Adna. Bo Moon (javelin) and Luke Wellander (300 hurdles) both added runner-up finishes for the Pirates.

Toledo’s Joe Wallace won the high jump at 5-10, with Morton-White Pass’ Tristen Storey taking second and Onalaska’s John Wells finishing third.

Storey also finished second in the 200 and third in the 100, and Winlock’s Robert Archer took third in the 400.

Pe Ell’s boys finished second to Kalama, 144-90, with Mossyrock (87) taking third and Adna (72) fourth.



Olson, a junior, won the triple jump by over 3 feet, at 35-03, and won the 100 hurdles in 15.99 seconds. She also finished second in the 300 hurdles, nine-hundredths of a second behind Kalama’s Jasmine Cooper (47.28 seconds), and took third in the long jump.

Kleemeyer, a senior, won the high jump at 4-10 — with teammates Isabella Elwood and Emma Manning tying Toutle Lake’s Melissa Germunson for second — and won the long jump at 16-04.

Adna’s Kenya Lorton took second in the triple jump, while Lauryn Apperson was second in the 3200 and Manning second in the 100 hurdles. Manning, Kleemeyer, Lorton and Cierra Swenson also teamed up to win the 4x100 in 52.56 seconds.

Mossyrock’s 4x200 team — Makenzie Barrows, Maleah Nixon Klein, Sarah Lovan and Stephanie Fried — took first in 1:53.61 and finished second in the 4x100, and Ava Nelson won the discus at 101-09 for the Vikings. Nixon Klein and Fried finished second and third in both the 100 and 200, and Lovan was second in the 400.

Carmen Cleveland-Barrera finished second in the shot put for Onalaska, while Kaylen Collette was third in the 3200 for Morton-White Pass and Alyssa Gaskill was third in the 800 for Toledo.

Adna’s girls (105 points) finished behind only Kalama (114), with Mossyrock (96) in third and Napavine (66) fifth.

The top placers in each laned event, and the top six from each field event and non-laned track event, advance to the District 4 2B championships, which will be held Friday at W.F. West High School in Chehalis.
