WENATCHEE — Mossyrock’s season came to an end here Saturday in the regional round of the State 2B girls basketball playoffs.

Brewster’s sophomore twins Mikenna and Michaun Kelpman combined for 41 points on 16 of 31 shooting, with 24 of those coming in the second half of the Bears’ 66-50 win.

Mossyrock kept things close in the first half, trailing 37-28 at the break, but the Kelpmans scored all 14 of Brewster’s points in the third quarter to put the Bears up 14 heading into the final frame.

Stephanie Fried scored 16 to lead Mossyrock in her final prep game, while Lainee Grose added 13 and Paige Moorcroft notched 11.

It was the final game for seniors Fried, Grose, Moorcroft and Ava Nelson, who helped Mossyrock make its longest run into the playoffs since 2008.

The Vikings finished the season with an 18-8 record, after finishing fourth in the Central 2B League and placing fifth in the District 4 tournament.

Brewster (19-3) moves on to the State 2B tournament in Spokane, where it faces Napavine on Wednesday at 12:15 p.m. in a loser-out game.
