Saturday’s Life section story about KACS, “Voice of Faith,” incorrectly suggested that people give the first 10 percent of their income, or their “tithe,” to the Christian radio station. “We do encourage that Christians practice the biblical principle of stewardship, but the tithing should go to their local church. ... We encourage them to support their local church with tithes and offerings, take care of their basic family expenses, and give generously of the remainder to other local charities including KACS,” station general manager Cameron Beierle wrote to The Chronicle. He noted that the station will itself tithe, by giving 10 percent of the money it raises in its annual “FriendRaiser” to charity, in this case, the Lewis County Gospel Mission and the Lighthouse Resource Center.
