Plans for Renovation of Centralia High School to Be Debuted to Public

The Centralia School District will hold an open house meeting at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 8, to give the public its first look at how plans are progressing for the high school’s modernization.

The proposed site and floor plans will be available. Renderings will show what the school may look like once it is completed, according to a press release from the district. Representatives at the meeting will include the architect, general contractor/construction manager and the project manager. They will be available to answer questions and hold small group discussions.

The high school will be modernized after voters in the Centralia School District approved a $74 million bond in February. The bond also includes two new elementary schools that will replace Fords Prairie and Jefferson Lincoln.

The construction of the high school is tentatively expected to begin in spring 2018. The building is expected to be open for the state of classes in 2020.

The meeting is open to the public. Centralia High School is located at 813 Eshom Road.
