Thanks to Centralia for Warm Welcome for Basketball Team

Posted

I have been visiting Centralia for the past eight years with teams of high school basketball players from Modbury High School in Adelaide, South Australia. We have been hosted on our five trips by families from Centralia High School.

I want to express my sincere thanks to the entire Centralia community for the warm welcome we always receive and for your generosity in the way all students and teachers have been treated. Our visits have allowed well over 100 of our Australian students to experience real life in a U.S. home and school, something I know they will never forget.

There have been many close relationships formed over the years, and I know how much these are valued by our students and their families.

I hope by bringing a little taste of Australia to you, that your community might consider visiting us at some time. Please know that you will always be welcome in our city of Adelaide.

Lastly, I thank the principal of Centralia High School, Josue Lowe, for his continued support of our visit and for opening up the school to us.

We look forward to our next visit in two years and to seeing some of you Down Under at some time in the future.
