Letter to the Editor: President is Not Powerless Against Democrats

Posted

“The Democrats have to change their law, that’s their law,” President Trump has said.

That’s our president complaining about being a puppet of the Democrats and being forced to do some despicable things he’d rather not do.

We didn’t hear this rhetoric when our new president, still wet behind the ears, repealed Obamacare. That was “their” law also, but it vanished in the wink of an eye.

The Dakota Access Pipeline? “Fire up the bulldozers!”

Remember that notorious “travel ban” he instituted? That happened so quickly, that enforcing it was a logistical nightmare: People were still in the air when they found that they, and their travel visas, had immediately become invalid.

Yet with the current immigration issue, he is powerless? I suspect that this meek and gentle lamb is actually a disguised wolf.

In one of his White House briefings he added a few revealing remarks that gave a hint at what is really going on here.

He said something to the effect that if his cruel taskmasters (the Democrats) would negotiate with him everything could be changed in an instant. Sounds a bit like a call from a kidnapper doesn’t it? Just drop the money in the sack, and we’ll return the kids. It’s up to you.

Money? Yes, $33 billion for starters. It’s an amazing country, and it’s a shame that something might happen to it. You might want to buy, I mean, negotiate, for some kind of protection. Like, oh I don’t know, how about a big beautiful wall?

Then he closes his remarks with a bit of campaigning, about how strong our economy is, and how easy it would be to avoid any more ugly affairs (like impeachment proceedings) if we just had more Republicans in office.

Sounds like he’s really concerned, but not about the matter he’s supposed to be addressing. It very much seems to be that old “create a problem, in order to present a solution,” doesn’t it?
