Letter to the Editor: Vote Republican to Maintain Wins in Economy

Posted

All too often, the liberal media squashes any mention of positive news achieved by the current administration.

Here are a few headlines that have failed to surface in the mainstream media as well as our local Chronicle.

“Amazon announces $15 minimum wage for all US employees.” CNN, Oct. 2.

Amazon just announced it will be raising its minimum wage for all U.S. workers to $15 an hour, effective Nov. 1.

“Walgreens to Spend $150 Million to Boost Wages Thanks to Tax Cut Benefits,” The Street, Oct. 12.

The pharmacy chain announced that it will make investments totaling $150 million to boost wages for its in-store employees in fiscal 2019. The company also made the reason for the increased spending clear: the Trump tax cuts.

“Trump signs ‘Save Our Seas Act’ to boost clean-up efforts in world’s oceans,” UPI, Oct. 12.

President Trump on Thursday signed legislation aimed at expanding cleanup efforts in the world’s oceans. The Save Our Seas Act, which passed the House and Senate, reassures funding to clean up marine debris.

“President to sign bills aimed at increasing drug price transparency,” CNN, Oct. 10.

Both measures, the Know the Lowest Price Act and the Patient Right to Know Drug Prices Act, aim to end the drug industry’s so-called gag orders of pharmacists, which prevent them from discussing cheaper price options with consumers.

President Trump has been one of the few “Promises Made — Promises Kept” presidents in my lifetime. Non-stop, he is addressing the most important issues for the American citizens.  One-by-one, he is achieving amazing results.

The economy has never been better, unemployment never been lower and he’s even making the world safer in his efforts with North Korea, plus severely damaging the threat of ISIS; plus, plus.

Why would any person work so hard while facing non-stop ridicule from the Democrats and liberal media? It can’t be fame. It surely isn’t fortune. I believe his sole motivation is his love for our country.

I doubt whether he will ever go on book or speaking tours to earn megabucks for his appearances. I doubt he will ever sell his influence when he’s out of the office.

How many presidents do you know who donated his salary? “Trump to donate 2018 second quarter salary to the Small Business Administration to help veterans,”  Washington Examiner, Oct. 15.

Many of us don’t like some of the things that President Trump has said or done during these last 18 months. However, what is more important?  Your dislike for some of his personal traits or the well-being of our country?  It would be sad if your personal feelings take priority over the well-being of every citizen in the U.S.

I encourage everyone to vote Republican in November to keep our country moving ahead.

Thanks for reading!
