I am very thankful to the Chehalis City Council for signing a proclamation Dec. 9 in support of the refugees. This shows Chehalis is now officially welcoming and in support of the refugees fleeing thier country due to ongoing war conflicts, fear of prosecution from thier government and torture.
This resolution is a milestone that shows the world Chehalis is a shining example of true bipartisanship in the act of human kindness to others. Chehalis now is the second city in Washington state to adopt the resolution and be a refugee friendly city. Our hope is more cities will look at the great example and human act of kindness with no political motivations.
I will like to humbly thank the entire city council for approving the request for the resolution and my gratitude for the signed proclamation.
