Letter to the Editor: Thank You to Donors Who Support Wish List

Posted

The Lewis-Mason-Thurston Area Agency on Aging would like to extend an earnest thank you to the people of Lewis County for their generous donations to the Wish List this year.

Each year, The Chronicle publishes an article that tells the story of a local resident with health issues and unfortunate circumstances which make it hard for them to purchases necessary items or even extra things for themselves. Thanks to the generosity from the people of Lewis County, this year was again a huge success.

Immediately after the article was published, people eagerly contacted our office — excited to support and purchase special items for the people on our list. This year donors helped nearly 100 people.

Pets are always well taken care of with a plethora of dog and cat food supplied. There was a sewing machine given with extras to brighten the holiday of a person who has experienced great loss. A vacuum cleaner, slippers, hats and gloves, cleaning supplies, cozy blankets and bus pass assistance were asked for and generously given. These gifts were received with gratefulness and amazement.

Our community, again, came together and showed how generous they are.
