Letter to the Editor: Tenino Resident Questions Property Tax Increase for New Thurston County Courthouse

Posted

Are You Kidding Me?

There is a proposed 38.5 percent property tax increase with an optional 1 percent per year, Which could turn into a 63.5 percent or more if you figure the compounding of the tax rate over the next 25 years. To build a new courthouse or anything else they want to spend this none dedicated new revenue on. Every time a new home, garage, or barn, are built in the county tax revenues go up, Now if the last three Democrat County Commissioners had not stolen billions of dollars of the rural counties residents land, imagine how much new revenue could be in the counties coffers to pay for, “A new court house with showers for the Judges,” without an additional tax increase.
