Letter to the Editor: Retain DeBolt in 20th District

Posted

Flooding may be the single most important issue facing our community. Tremendous financial and emotional damage has been caused by the catastrophic flooding our region has experienced.

Flooding remains a real threat to our lives, homes and businesses; the stigma of flooding has kept our region from reaching its full economic potential. That is why we need to retain Rep. Richard DeBolt.

Nobody has been a stronger and more effective legislative advocate working to reduce the terrible impact of catastrophic local flooding than DeBolt. He has put his heart into the effort and enormous progress has already occurred. More than 115 local projects have been started or completed to protect our local water supply, farm equipment and livestock, businesses, homes and lives.

Today, a project is under way in the city of Centralia to reduce the flood damage from China Creek, and the state and federal permitting process for the water retention facility on the Chehalis River main stem is under way. The funding for these projects has come through the state Legislature.

DeBolt has built an impressive bipartisan effort with the governor and legislators on both sides of the aisle to keep this effort moving forward.

Please consider casting your vote for Rep. Richard DeBolt for state legislator in the 20th District.
