I am disappointed to see our elected school board attempting to mislead voters in Centralia. I have seen the ad saying “not a new tax.”

It is a stretch to consider this an extension of the existing levy when the amount is $6.6 million for 2021 and the existing one is $3.5 million.

I understand that they feel they must convince voters that they have the right answer by whatever means necessary. I just do not expect this from our local elected representatives who volunteer their time to serve us.

Right to your faces, they lie. Not a new tax, my eye. But, the average voter in Lewis County doesn't concern themselves much with their elected officials lying to them. Elected officials do it because there are no consequences, and they know it.
