Letter to the Editor: Passing Bond is Vital for Toledo Community

Posted

My husband and I moved back to Toledo after living on the other side of the state for 10 years. We both grew up here, and we (finally) recognized that this is the type of town where we want to raise our two children.

This is a town where my son builds lifelong friendships in preschool and youth soccer, just a mile from our home. This is a town where my daughter knows her great-grandparents, and where she can take pride in our family history here.

We want our children to be raised in a small town, where “community” is practiced, but no one has to say it. You just are a part of it and you help whenever, however you can, whether or not it personally benefits you.

Passing the Toledo High School bond is pivotal to ensuring that this community stays a community. As a young parent, I would strongly consider moving my children, and potentially family, out of the area if there wasn’t a safe, secure, up-to-date, school in the town. I know I am not alone with these considerations.

Please join us in voting yes for a new Toledo High School, and for our future. “Yes Costs Less!”
