Letter to the Editor: A Stronger Transit System Means a Stronger Community

Posted

In every community, there is a need for public transportation. Every county deserves dependable transportation. I believe that if Twin Transit is able to fully expand countywide then it will provide that need.

With the desire of wanting countywide bus service, this ballot measure can make it happen. Bus service has been a great service for so many riders in the past. With the passage of this ballot measure, Twin Transit can serve the entire county from Pe Ell all the way to Packwood.

Another benefit of having countywide bus service expansion is that it can spur economic growth in our county. By bringing bus service to the entire county, the business owners in those areas will have the chance to have extra customers go there and shop. With extra revenue coming in, businesses can hire more employees.

As a taxpayer, I believe that paying for countywide bus service is taxes spent wisely. Some of the greatest people I know are bus drivers and public school employees. On Nov. 6, voters should vote to approve countywide bus service. A stronger transit is a stronger community.
